Prevention champion
The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation is dedicated to creating a future without breast cancer. Established by volunteers in 1986, we are the leading national volunteer-based organization in Canada working to fund, support and advocate for:
- Relevant and innovative research
- Meaningful education and awareness programs
- Early diagnosis and effective treatment
- A positive quality of life for those living with breast cancer
An important area of research that we fund is breast cancer prevention, which focuses on understanding why breast cancer occurs and how personal risk can be reduced. As proud champions of this work, the Foundation’s Ontario Region has contributed over $12.1 million to prevention research since 2001.
